2019 SAN FRANCISCO BOOK FESTIVAL HONORS “MOURNING DOVE”

SAN FRANCISCO_A novel of Southern intrigue set against 1970s Memphis is the winner of the 2019 San Francisco Book Festival.

Author Claire Fullerton’s Mourning Dove (Firefly Southern Fiction) tells the story of a family struggling to adapt. Memphis is a world foreign to Millie Crossan and her brother, Finley. The genteel world of their mother's upbringing is vastly different from anything they've ever known, and they are the outsiders and only have each other. Nuance, tradition, and Southern eccentrics flavor Millie and Finley's world as they find their way to belonging.

The rich prose and vivid stories made this novel stand out and well worthy of honors.
